She explores the successes and challenges faced by the Berlin Poliklinik, the Vienna Ambulatorium, Alfred Adler's child guidance clinics, and Wilhelm Reich's Sex-Pol, which provided free community-based counseling and sex education and aimed to end public repression of sexuality.
