Just as Canada is increasingly at home in the world, the world is increasingly finding a home in Canada. The World in Canada confronts three questions: What are the implications of the dramatic and sustained shift in the Canadian ethnic mosaic for foreign policy? In what ways do diasporas influence Canadian foreign policy? What impact will and should Canada's demographic changes have on Canadian foreign policy in the long term?

Bercuson was a special advisor to the Minister of National Defense and is still a member of the Minister of National Defense's monitoring committee. He was a former dean at Calgary College and is currently director of the university's strategic studies program.

In addition to writing several scholarly periodicals, Bercuson has written several books including Significant Incident: Canada's Army, the Airborne, and the Murder in Somalia.
