 | Environmental and Water Resources Milestones in Engineering History : May 15-19, 2007, Tampa, Florida Proceedings of the Fourth National EWRI History Symposium, Environmental and Water Resources Institute Congress, held in Tampa, Florida, May 15-19, 2007. Sponsored by the National History and Heritage Committee of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute of ASCE. This collection contains 18 papers exploring historical topics of interest to environmental and water resources engineers. Of special interest are a photo essay of the Hoover Dam taken by Ansel Adams and papers on the remarkable career of James Pugh Kirkwood (1807-1877), waterworks engineer and ASCE leader, on the 200th anniversary of his birth. Topics include: historic small-scale water projects, the history of U.S. water filtration, the Florida Water Management Project, and the history of experimental watershed research in the United States.
