She is also the coauthor of Tabloid, Inc ., a critical study of film, photography, and crime narratives. Her recognitions include a Hawthornden Fellowship, the Amy Lowell Traveling Scholarship, a Lannan Foundation Writing Residency Fellowship, and a "Discovery"/The Nation Award.
