French philosopher Paul Ricoeur gave sustained attention to several themes pertinent to a hermeneutics of liturgy, including symbol, metaphor, narrative, subjectivity and memory. He is a contributor to the Oxford Handbook of Sacramental Theology and a subdeacon in the Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church.
