About 2700 tanaidaceans from 131 stations collected by scientists on board the R/V Hero at Tierra del Fuego, Isla de los Estados, and along the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula were studied. A total of 36 species representing 26 genera in 11 families were determined. Of these taxa, four genera, one subgenus, and 12 species are described as new to science. Of the remaining 24 species, only nine were known previously from the area studied. Range extensions are reported for 14 species, only one of which is listed for the Antarctic/Subantarctic region for the first time.
