Vychislitel'naya Seysmologiya has been published annually by the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1966. The series is well known for its introduction of new mathematical and computational tools in seismology and the related fields of solid earth sciences. Each translated article was rereviewed by Western scientists before being accepted for publication in Computational Seismology and Geodynamics . It is hoped that this volume, like earlier ones, will make significant contributions to the geosciences.
