Amaia Sánchez-Cacicedo is a scholar in the field of peacebuilding, internationalnbsp;intervention and statebuilding, with a regional focus on Asia. She has conducted research on the evolution and internationalization of ethno-political conflicts, with a particular interest in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. She is developing a growing researchnbsp;agenda in the field of diaspora and transnational studies. Amaia holds a BSc in International Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, an MSc in International Affairs from Georgetown Universitynbsp;and a PhD from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She is currently a part-time lecturer at the International University in Geneva and has previously worked for several local NGOs in India, and for the UNHCR in Costa Rica, Kenya and Sri Lanka.
