The collection spans four decades of outspoken opinion on the political issues that were dear to F.R. Scott's heart: the advocacy of socialism, civil rights, Quebec politics, labour rights, social justice, and the political destiny of Canada.


Scott Frank R. :

FRANK R. SCOTT -- law teacher, poet, politician, and author -- was born in Quebec and received his early education in that city. He holds the degrees of B.A. (Bishop's and Oxon.), B.Litt. (Oxon.), and B.C.L.(McGill). He was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He has been on the staff of McGill Unviersity since 1928, where he is now Macdonald Professor of Law. Professor Scott is the author of a number of books on Canadian politics and and foreign affairs, and of three volumes of poems. He has edited two anthologies of poetry, and contributed numerous articles on the Canadian constitution and foreign affairs. He is a prominent member of the C.C.F. Party, and has been resonsible for drafting party platforms and directing much of the party's policy.Horn Michiel :

Michiel Horn is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and University Historian. He is a professor of history at Glendon College of York University.
