Après huit ans passé à l'Institut québécois de recherche sur la culture et après avoir complété de 1988 à 1991 un post-doctorat en études juives à l'Université McGill, il a occupé à partir de 1993 divers postes dans la fonction publique québécois, dont au ministère des Relations avec les citoyens et de l'Immigration. Depuis de 2004 à 2008 il était directeur de l'Institut d'études canadiennes à l'Université d'Ottawa. Norman Ravvin is a fiction writer, critic and teacher. His published work includes the novel, Lola by Night , and the story collection, Sex, Skyscrapers and Standard Yiddish . His essays on Canadian and American literature are collected in A House of Words: Jewish Writing, Identity, and Memory . He is the editor of Not Quite Mainstream: Canadian Jewish Short Stories and co-editor of The Canadian Jewish Studies Reader . He is chair of the Concordia Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies at Concordia University. Sherry Simon is a Professor of French at Concordia University. She was co-editor of the Quebec cultural magazine Spirale for ten years and directed the interdisciplinary doctorate in Humanities program at Concordia University from 1995 to 2000. |
