Sun played an instrumental role in the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty during the Xinhai Revolution (1911). Sun was the first provisional president when the Republic of China was founded in 1912 and later co-founded the Kuomintang, serving as its first leader. Sun was a Chinese physician, a writer and a philosopher. His works include The Outline of National Reconstruction/Chien Kuo Ta Kang (1918), The Fundamentals of National Reconstruction/Jianguo fanglue (1924) and The Principle of Nationalism (1953). |
