This book summarizes recent and critical aspects of advanced materials for environmental protection and remediation. It explores the various development aspects related to environmental remediation including design and development of novel and highly efficient materials, aimed at environmental sustainability. Synthesis of advanced materials with desirable physicochemical properties, and applications is covered as well. Distributed across thirteen chapters, major topics covered include sensing and elimination of contaminants and hazardous materials via advanced materials along with hydrogen energy, biofuels, and CO2 capture technology.

Discusses the development in design of synthesis process and materials with sustainable approach. Covers removal of biotic and abiotic waste from the aqueous systems. Includes hydrogen energy and biofuels under green energy production. Explores removal of environmental (soil and air) contaminants with nanomaterials. Reviews advanced materials for environmental remediation in both liquid and gas phase (CO2 removal).

Naveen Kumar has 18 years of research experience and currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (INDIA) and holding various academic positions in the institute. He is actively engaged in the field of material chemistry, out of which photocatalysis and luminescent materials are major area of the research. He has published more than 55 articles in the journals of high repute. He also worked in Universitat Politècnica de València, Valencia, Spain in an international research project entitled as "DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION CIGS BASED SOLAR CELLS" [NANICIS-269279] in 2013 and 2014. He is also working as the reviewer in the various reputed journals. He was an invited guest editor for MPDI Catalyst (2021) in nanocatalysis and photocatalysis. He has presented various research papers in various national and international conferences also delivered the invited lectures in various institutes.

Peter Ramashadi Makgwane is a Principal Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR), Pretoria (South Africa) and Extraordinary Professor in Chemistry at the University of the Western Cape (South Africa). He completed his MSc Chemistry from University of Pretoria (South Africa) in 2006, and PhD Chemistry from Nelson Mandela University (South Africa) in 2010. He was a visiting scholar at Polish Academy of Sciences Institute of Physical Chemical (PAS-IPC) catalysis research group, Warsaw (Poland) in 2017 and National Research Centre (Cairo, Egypt) in 2016. He was an invited guest editor for Journal of Nanotechnology and Nanoscience (2014) and MPDI Catalyst (2021) in nanocatalysis and photocatalysis themed issues. Professor Makgwane has published number research articles in heterogenous catalysis, nanocatalysis and photocatalysis focused on chemicals conversion, environmental remediation, and semiconductor gas chemical sensing. His main research interest is in applying catalysis for green and sustainable processes in chemicals, energy, and environment.
