He is Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, USA. Dr. Walter Hess, a master surgeon with an internationally based clinical practice in Zurich, grew up in Switzerland. There he learned not only the ancient languages of Greek and Latin but the modern ones of English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
