| Native and National in Brazil: Indigeneity after Independence Tracy Devine Guzmán received a B.A. in foreign affairs/French language and literature from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in government from the College of William and Mary, and a Ph.D. in Latin American studies from Duke University. Between 2003 and 2007, she served as a translator and consultant for Save the Children-UK in Peru. She is Associate Professor of Latin American Studies and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Miami. Her monograph, Native and National in Brazil: Indigeneity after Independence, was awarded Honorable Mention for the 2014 LASA Brazil Section Book Prize. (Bowker Author Biography) |
