This book provides an introduction to digital media content production in the twenty-first century. It explores the kinds of content production that are undertaken in professions that include journalism, public relations and marketing. The book provides an insight into content moderation and addresses the legal and ethical issues that content producers face, as well as how these issues can be effectively managed. Dr. Jay Daniel Thompson is Lecturer and Program Manager in the Professional Communication program, School of Media and Communication at RMIT University. His research investigates ways of cultivating ethical online communication in an era of digital hostility and networked disinformation. He is co-author (with Professor Rob Cover and Dr Ashleigh Haw) of Fake News in Digital Cultures (Emerald Publishing 2022). Dr. Thompson's research has been published in journals such as Convergence , Feminist Media Studies , Journalism , Media International Australia , and Continuum . He is also the Social Media and Website Officer with the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia and a freelance journalist.

Associate Professor John Weldon has lectured in journalism, communications, professional and creative writing at CAE, Victoria University, and Quest University since the early 2000s. He is a published novelist and has worked as a sports reporter, features writer, columnist, blogger, podcaster, reviewer, script writer, and media and communications manager for organisations and publications Australia-wide.
